Abstract

A procedure for making an impression at stage I implant surgery is described, and the sequential laboratory procedures for fabricating a custom provisional restoration are presented. The provisional restoration is delivered at the uncovering of the implant, providing a template for the tissue healing with desired contours. This procedure facilitates the fabrication of implant restorations with optimal gingival contours and esthetics. (J Prosthet Dent 2001;86:177-80.)
