Sterngold introduces the new ERA Implant System and the Micro ERA

The new ERA Implant system for provisional applications combines the ERA Overdenture Attachment with a narrow diameter (2.2 mm), self-tapping implant (Fig. 1).

It is used to immediately stabilize a complete denture and to protect an osseious graft site on a temporary basis.

The Micro ERA is the smallest extracoronal attachment that incorporates universal hinging with vertical resiliency. The ERA-Reduced Vertical male (ERA-RV) has 0.4 mm of vertical resiliency and universal joint hinging. The Micro ERA male has the same resiliency and hinging, but needs 0.5 mm less vertical space and has a diameter of almost 1.0 mm less, making it the smallest extracoronal resilient attachment in the world. Testing shows no appreciable loss of retention. The ERA-RV and Micro ERA males (Fig. 2) also have a projection that contacts the abutment crown about the female eyelet.

This resists vertical displacement of the partial denture's distal extension bases.
