Dr. Alexander Shor, Cover Artist

Born in Riga, Latvia Dr Alexander Shor received his DMD degree at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine. He continued with specialty training and obtained certificate in prosthodontics and Master of Science degree at the University of Washington. Dr Shor maintains private practice limited to the restorative dentistry and prosthodontics in Seattle, Washington. Aside from dentistry, Dr Shor’s other passion is landscape photography and traveling. In his photography he seeks to show the beauty of natural world. Dr. Kevin Payne, Cover Artist

Dr Kevin Payne received his DDS from Marquette University in 1995 and immediately entered the Graduate Prosthodontics Program at the University of Michigan where he obtained his certificate in Prosthodontics in 1998. He practices with his wife in Bay City, Michigan. In his free time, he enjoys being a dad to his three children as well as hiking, trekking, and mountain climbing.

Raymond Chu, Cover Artist

Raymond Chu, UCSF Prosthodontics Graduate (1992), practices at his private clinic in Cupertino, CA. When he’s not practicing prosthetic dentistry, he teaches prosthodontic residents at UCSF. It is with great enjoyment for him to give back to his alma mater and to share his experiences with the future generation of prosthodontists. He is also devoted to health and fitness by frequently playing tennis, pickleball, mountain biking, and hiking. Taking wildlife photography and videography while traveling with family and friends is another one of his great passions. Raymond is grateful to share his work and hobbies with the prosthodontics community.

Robert Ho, Cover Artist

Dr. Robert Ho graduated from the University of California School of Dentistry in 1991 and maintains a private practice in general dentistry in San Francisco, California, since 1991. He is a part-time Health Sciences Clinical Professor at UCSF. He is passionate about nature and wildlife photography. In 2020 the National Audubon Society recognized him as one of the Top 100 awardees in their photo contest.

Ken Malament, Cover Artist

Dr. Ken Malament received his DDS from NYU College of Dentistry and a specialty certificate and Master’s degree from Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. Dr Malament has a full time practice limited to prosthodontics in Boston that includes a dental laboratory with master dental technologists. A PastPresident of the American Board of Prosthodontics, he is a Clinical Professor at Tufts University and a Course Director in the postgraduate department of Prosthodontics. He presently serves as the Immediate President of the Academy of Prosthodontics and President-elect of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr Malament is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, Academy of Prosthodontics, Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, and Northeastern Gnathological Society and a Past President of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, Northeastern Gnathological Society and the American Academy of Dental Science. Dr Malament has been the recipient of significant awards in Prosthodontics including the American College of Prosthodontists’ Clinician / Researcher Award, Daniel F. Gordon Award for Lifetime Achievement and Distinguished Lecturer Award, the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics’ George Moulton Award for Outstanding Achievement, the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics Distinguished Lecturer Award, the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry John McLean Honorary Lecture Award and the first Frank V. Celenza Memorial Award from the Northeastern Gnathological Society. Dr Malament was on the research and development teams for two different well-known ceramic products and developed instrumentation used in clinical practice.
