Immediately loaded complete-arch fixed implant-supported prostheses have become a popular approach to the treatment of patients with edentulism. In the past 10 years, popular treatment concepts such as All-on-Four (Nobel Biocare) have streamlined the rehabilitation of the edentulous maxilla and mandible, with high implant and prosthetic survival rates.1,2 Two recent studies have reported overall cumulative implant survival rates approaching 97% over a 5- to 7-year follow-up period.3,4 Immediate loading involves either the conversion of an existing complete denture to an interim complete-arch fixed implant-supported prosthesis5,6 or the insertion of a prefabricated prosthesis using computer-aided engineering and cone beam computed tomography.
